Sales Account Manager, Americas

TOFWERK is seeking a Sales Account Manager to lead new and existing sales accounts in the Americas.   In this role, you will lead academic and industrial prospects through the entire sales cycle, from initial contact and assessment of needs to delivery of solutions.  You will represent the TOFWERK brand in a manner that reflects our values of innovation, quality and customer success, while meeting regional sales targets for our entire product portfolio.


  • Manage and expand a portfolio of prospect and customer accounts 
    • Engage leads generated by marketing activities and your own market research 
    • Communicate pro-actively with accounts to stay aware of needs and status
  • Understand prospects’ use cases and requirements and propose best possible TOFWERK solution  
    • Utilize TOFWERK scientists as resources, and facilitate their communication with prospects, including presentations and demo measurements 
    • Articulate our value proposition, ensuring that customers are properly educated about proposed solutions and options
  • Recognize and manage sales opportunities
    • Prepare and deliver quotes
    • Understand decision making processes and the roles of key decision makers
    • Ensure timely and thorough response to all requests
    • Stay informed on timeline for purchase and path to funding
    • Support funding applications
    • Manage tender responses  
    • Coordinate between production, product team and customers for efficient product delivery and training 
  • Meet or exceed sales targets
    • Prioritize work that will close sales 
    • Fill pipeline to facilitate future growth
  • Maintain long-term relationship with your customers 
    • Periodic assessment of status and satisfaction with response to needs
    • Keep them informed on new products, upgrades, options, or services 
  • Continuously educate self in product portfolio, staying aware of technology, applications, documentation, and competition
  • Manage account data and sales funnel in SFDC CRM
    • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to sales team, management, and other stakeholders
  • Support regional Head of Sales and Service in sales administration for key OEM accounts


  • 3+ years in sales of scientific equipment with demonstrated success
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
  • Understanding of academic funding and tender processes
  • Ability to engage prospects to identify their analytical requirements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.  Adaptable for communication with technical and business contacts.   
  • Eagerness to learn about new technology, science, and markets 
  • Competitive, growth mindset; motivated to expand network, close sales, and meet targets
  • Available for travel to customer sites, conferences and trade-shows.  Up to 30%
  • Fluency in English


  • Business degree or coursework
  • Scientific research experience, especially using mass spectrometry or other analytical instrumentation
  • Knowledge and network in key TOFWERK markets, such as:  air monitoring, semicon manufacturing, or flavor science    
  • Salesforce CRM or similar
